Because of problems like this I somehow doubt that a fully automated world will ever come into being.

Some places, things work. Some places, they don’t. Back in ‘38, we said ’Only Fascists can make the trains run on time’ (today, we’d add ‘and with working escalators’).

But where’s a good Fascist when you need one?

They said that, yeah, but should we trust anything a fascist says? They said Republicans would be good for the economy but ten years of their rule has left it in the crapper.

“You’ll never see an ‘Escalator Out of Order’ sign, only ‘Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.’” — Mitch Hedberg.

Obviously that metro repair man is one of R’money’s GOP goons, they can’t fix anything because all they do is break things like our economy and our democracy.

10 years when was that. Democrats has had congress for four years and still has the Senate and the White house for four. Oh and a recovery has never lasted this long. Except for the Great Depression and oh the Democrats had control then to.

Look their will always be another recession it is how you deal with it that counts.

I wish Toles would stop talking about the Washington Metro. I don’t care about it.

It’s repaired but he didn’t have any spare fuses. They had to order new fuses and they’ll arrive in a week or a month or whatever. When the fuses do arrive they’ll be the wrong aperage rating and they’ll blow.

Michael wme: One of the early victories of the corporate media. Actually, the railroads were one of the few things that were working when Mussolini took over. They got their great depression a little before we did.

Isn’t it amazing how those Swiss Fascists have managed to have their trains run on time ever since ’38 ? Now Apple has even copied their famous clock.

When the Republicans convinced FDR in 1937 that the Depression was over and to tighten the money he did. Then all that had been done to improve things started to crater back wards. So after 1938 he reinstated the sensible things that allowed the US to recover. (WW II slowed it down.)

Ok what Republican convinced FDR, what was his name. Listen the second slow down started a lot earlier then that, it was 36 or so. When money stops flowing the economy will slow, but FDR should have let private industry take over.

Last what is sensible about about programs that take 10 years?
