    There’s nothing to worry about. The cliff isn’t until Jan, 2013, and the Mayans have promised us that won’t be a problem. And if you can’t trust the Mayans, who can you trust?

    And I certainly don’t trust those university types who say they’ve learned the Mayan language and that the Mayans didn’t promise us the movie 2012, I believe the New Agers who never had their minds warped by university professors, and also the people who made the movie.

    Boehner has already announced he doesn’t think there’ll be a deficit deal until January. I wish I was a Republican congressman so I could publicly declare I’m not going to do my job, and yet still get paid.

    Symbolic votes symbolize that the members of the House are mere symbols…I suggest we bash them on the head with CYMBALS!

    S&P said when they downgraded the dollar, that the US had to find new revenue. This means taxes of some lkind to regain our AAA rating. The Republicans have blocked every attempt to let the Bush tax cuts expire as was written in the law. They consider a pledge they signed which was written by a 14 year old to be sacred.

    @Michael wme

    The Mayans promised us nothing, just the end of their 3,000 year old calender.

    People like Socialist Laurence O’ Donnell suggest we go over that cliff then things will get done very fast to fix it. It is the only way to get those Republican Tea Partiers to do their job otherwise.

    The Bush tax cuts did expire and Obama signed the bill to keep them.

    Jose, The bill kept the cuts from expiring .Obama wanted the cuts to be extended for everyone with income under $200,000 or $250,000 for a family. He did not get that as the republicans had to have them extended for the " job creators" also. Rather than cut the income of real consumers, Obama signed the bill. The “job creators” moved more jobs overseas.

    I am sorry but the President is trampling it where as the House and Congress are sitting back playing partisan blames.

    Judging by the debate I think O knows he’s spent us over the cliff and wants nothing to do with the next 4 years.

    “The Bush tax cuts did expire and Obama signed the bill to keep …..”
    .
    ….the taxes on everybody from rising, because the repubtards refused to compromise in any way.
    But that allowed unemployment extensions and the payroll tax cuts to continue as well as allowing other bills to pass that the repubtards had been Holding hostage.

    Sure and after four years of Romnesaurus Depression, Hillary will win in one of the greatest landslide elections ever. Clever strategy.
