You don’t not have to be an economic genius to look at the historical record and see that tax cuts are always accompanied by three results: (1) an increase in the deficit and national debt; (2) in increase in CEO pay and bonuses; and (3) a widening of the income gap between the bottom 95 percent of the American people and the top 5 percent.

That does not grow the economic engine of the U.S.

Boner will undoubtedly begin to attack the deficit by…continuing tax cuts to those earning more than a quarter million a year.

    I guarantee it.

Anthony 2816 : …continuing tax cuts to those earning more than a quarter million a year.

    … and cutting social security.

Obama’s cat food commission report is due December 1st, and Republicans and Democrats will both support the cuts.

    Bipartisanship.

The tax cuts will accomplish their purpose: assuring lots of money for smear ads against Democrats in 2012 and beyond.

“Taxes cut by Bush knocked unemployment down to 4.6% and added millions of jobs the ensuing five years.”

    • Reality check Sweetheart: Twenty-two million jobs were created during Clinton’s two terms but only 3 million during Bush’s. http://politifact.com/ohio/statements/2010/jul/25/sherrod-brown/sherrod-brown-touts-job-grown-during-clinton-presi/

Sorry, but the higher tax era of Clinton created more jobs than Bush’s spending spree. Not to mention that everyone from the top to the bottom of the economic ladder prospered, while under Bush only the top tier did.

And apparently the people only speak when they elect Republicans. When they elect Democrats, it’s solely due to trickery. I love it!

    • This doesn’t sound like the ecstatic wave of “change” and new era of Republican policy that the other Righties are chanting.

The Repulsicans have plotted for two years to become the “majority.” When anyone of them burn their FEDERAL insurance cards and start spending their own money for health care, AND give back all the money the Chamber of Commerce, and outside business interests spent to get them in, I’ll believe they really want to reduce the deficit. They will now have to be the party “ok, all the time, and right now” instead of NO NEVER NOT NOW!

I think the Republican “plan” will open the eyes of enough people over the next two years (not including Howgozit, apparently) that we’ll be able to reelect President Obama and give him a majority to work with for his second term. HOwgozit and others like him turned their minds off a long time ago and they are best ignored. They’ve become inconsequential because of their blindness.

Here’s one sure to irritate Howie: “The People have Spoken:” http://lezgetreal.com/2010/11/senator-gillibrand-invokes-dadt-repeal-marriage-equality-in-victory-speech/

Oh and by the way, DADT repeal enjoys a greater consensus of American support both Right, middle, and Left, than either party, Congress, or the president. These polls are even reflected by people at Fox News. The people have spoken, Howie. Do you support repeal? Or do the people only speak when you agree?
