Gary and Glenn McCoy’s delightfully absurd comic panel takes superheroes, office humor, huggable animals and twisted relationships, blending them in a bizarre marriage of Gary Larson, The New Yorker, Conan O’Brien and Mad Magazine. Both award-winning humorists and cartoonists, this duo creates a one-of-a-kind comic panel.

A lot of people die trying to get healthy. For one, I’m thinking of Paul Fixx, whose book on running started the jogging craze, so of course he died while jogging.

That’ll fixx him. Or as the eulogy in today’s “Cornered” states: “Problem solved”

Yes, lots of over-achiever runners die of heart problems because they have depleted their bodies of essential minerals to keep their heart muscle healthy.

True. Paul Fixx (properly, Paul Fix) was an actor best known for playing in a lot of Westerns (and was notably “Marshal Micah Torrance” on the TV series The Rifleman) and for essaying the role of “Dr. Mark Piper” in the second pilot of Star Trek.

Yep, I get my exercise serving as a pallbearer for friends who exercise.

Heart disease ran in Jim Fixx’ family. His father died several years younger than Jim. But keep thinking of excuses not to exercise, and send me some, too.
