they sell lamps with magnifying lenses set in the middle of the lamp.
as well as headlamps also with magnifying lenses.

I’ve worn glasses for distance since I was seven, so no problem there. I really hate having to wear them to read though, that started at 47.

Just get the glasses with the cord that hangs around your neck. Then you don’t need a hand held magnifier.
