‘It takes me forever to learn things, I’m a total goof-off, stuff starts disappearing from the office…’
    Homer being honest.

I miss the days when an employer wanted to know if the prospective employee could do the job, was punctual, was hard-working, and was polite.

For some years now, everything but those things have been criteria for our H.R. fools.

My greatest weakness? Getting ticked at being asked: “What’s your greatest weakness?”

Out of his own mouth, for all who have maintained that Pig isn’t dumb, just naive (or the like), myself included: Pig is dumb.

Greatest weakness? Difficulty with stupid questions.

What a lot of people don’t realize, interviewing is a two-way street. The job candidate should be interviewing the company as much as the company is interviewing the candidate.

So if they ask a stupid question like that, give them one of the stock stupid answers (“I work too hard”, etc.), then at the end of the interview, when they ask you if you have any questions for them, ask them, “In your opinion as an employee, what’s the biggest heartburn working for this company?”

That would be an asset for some jobs. Keeps you from getting bored by the menial tediousness. Kinda like Forest Gump — he was a great grounds keeper because he didn’t get bored mowing grass all day!

When I drove a semi for a living, I would sometimes wear a tee-shirt in the dispatcher’s office that said “‘ON TIME’ Means When I Get There!”
    They really HATED that!
    But, they wanted honesty…
