“Just put it on my EBT Card……… Errr…… The taxpayers tab”.
I saw a lady on the news (wearing designer sunglasses and big gold earrings and necklace) yelling at the reporter about not being able to “Get my free food!!!” during the 1 day computer problems.
Maybe she should budget her money better and not count on the gov’ment to feed her.

No, the accurate comic would show someone who already made the purchases (appropriations bills already passed), but who decides they aren’t going to pay the credit card bill when it comes in the mail.

Meanwhile, Paul Ryan tries to save the day. He’ll trade increases in military spending for some safety net preservation, yet he won’t budge on increasing revenue to pay for his increases. Tell me if I’m wrong, but won’t that increase the deficit?

    Aw, c’mon, UJ.
Everybody knows it’s okay if a Republican does it.

EBT card glitch prompts unlimited Wal-Mart shopping sprees
    14 hrs ago
What would you do if you had an unlimited amount of the government’s money to spend on food? Based on the shoppers who took advantage of a brief glitch on their Electronic Benefits Transfer cards, you’d stack a shopping cart with as much stuff as you could physically push to the Wal-Mart cash register. For a few hours on Saturday, Wal-Mart shoppers in Louisiana who checked their EBT balances discovered that their spending limits had totally disappeared, giving them limitless funds for their grocery shopping.
The glitch was apparently triggered by a power outage during EBT infrastructure maintenance; once the situation was corrected, overflowing shopping carts were abandoned in the aisles. “That’s stealing,” one shopper complained to local station KSLA. “That’s all I got to say about it.”

If Republicans were actually serious about lowering the deficit, they’d propose real cuts to their pet programs in addition to the programs they don’t like. History shows they’re no more serious about deficit reduction than the Democrats. We’ve all seen the numbers for the last 30 years. Both parties have their blame.

Those people in Louisiana are disgusting.

I like cutting back on government but up until now I was not supportive of cutting back on the foodstamp program. After reading about this fiasco I have changed my mind.

I defy anyone to defend this rampant looting (Anybody reminded of Katrina?) in Lousiana.

He thought he brought the one with no budget and no debt limit…! Surprise!

It is the Congress that is responsible for the budget not the Executive Branch. Congress is just not passing a debt ceiling increase to pay for it’s own spending.

Oh yeah, THOSE people. In that liberal land of Louisiana.
I can at least rate them better than people who trample others to death on Black Friday just so they can get a TV on sale.

We need to get all that cruft and waste out of the basket so we can load it up with pork-barrel projects for the military!

healthcare.gov update: Plan over last weekend was for the Govt to take down the account creation pages, do fixes, optimize and push a new build during off-peak hours. WP just tried to create an account, it was simple, it was fast and it took about 1:30. So, anecdotal, but it totally just worked for WP. But is Lisa still interested in healthcare cost reduction? No. She interested in changing the subject to DEBT. Next change, how’s about lower healthcare costs and JOBS, Lisa?

Fool libs will deficit spend us into oblivion yet. Not to mention all the wasted money on illegal alien support, supporting an entitled welfare mentality, and funding the murder of our own children.

What does that have to do with the debt ceiling?

Yeah, they’re slowly getting it together. A very conservative friend posted this on social media:

I thought I’d share my experience trying sign-up at HealthCare.gov. On a very slow laptop at 7:30 Central time tonight, It took all of 30 minutes to create an acct. No Crashes or difficulty at all. I stopped when I reached the coverage selection process because I need to do some more research before I select. All that in less than an hour, and the early pricing shows their best policy is less than half of what my last quote was for catastrophic coverage 10 years ago (same insurance co.). Since then they wouldn’t sell it to me for pre-existing reasons.

Amazingly, I din’t run into astronomic pricing and ridiculous coverage, at least to this point. I will update later. I do know it feels better knowing I might be able to buy medical insurance.
