Anyone remember “shock and awe”, and all that “collateral damage”?

Mission accomplished for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Don’t like the War on Terror? Ask yer congressman to un-declare it, eh? We’ll go back to treating bombings and assassinations as individual crimes instead of international acts of war. We’ll apply Constitutional law evenly across the board, and the RePubs won’t be happy two minutes.

I think Lisa should re-read John McCain’s speech at the convention. He wants to take those things to a lot more places. He’s also unsatisfied with just drones. He wants the army out there too.

The point of this cartoon was the release from the Justice dept. that Americans could be killed if it was determined that they could be considered an enemy combatant by the military or? The ACLU jumped in and objected to Justice making such a loose allowance for executing someone without a trial or a public determination of their being classed as an enemy of America. We are getting pretty fast and loose with our drone policy, including using them on the above mentioned “enemies.”
This is just another example of Obama continuing G.W.‘s policies except more drastic. This is the administration that condemned water boarding, but it’s okay if some DOD person decides an American is now an enemy and has him taken out. I wonder how many more exceptions we are going to make to our civil rights? Start using drones in the U.S.?

Lisa has lost her grip on reality, if she ever had it!

@Ransom D Stone
She never had it.

The cartoon represents Slim Pickins riding the bomb down in the Dr Strangelove movie.

The end result may be the same. Continually violating other countries airspace will not have a good ending. Some of them already have nukes.

May feel good when you’re the only one with the drone. But do we really want a world where any country can “legally” dispense it’s version of justice in any other country? This has to stop.

I remember liberals saying ‘shock and awe’. They were shocked and awed with the speed Afghanistan and Iraq was taken down.
The ‘smart bombs’ minimized the ‘collateral damage’. Again, liberals were in ‘shock and awe’ of how efficient the American military is.
Now the liberals demand America ‘dumb down’ to their level.

I hate to say it, but they’ve already started that.

How fast they were taken down? Are we out of either country yet? I’d say they are still fighting. As usual you are clueless!

I agree with Bandusia15 that Lisa has never had a grasp of reality, or at least not a strong one. and this cartoon shows that. But I think you are right, she is trying to show the disturbing revelation of the possibility of execution without trial just because someone said you were a threat.

Afghanistan was taken down? Excuse me, but when did that happen exactly?
Slight correction: the USA is shocked how it tuned into a longer fiasco than Vietnam.

On the other hand, the world is in awe of the imbecility of the previous administration for invading Iraq for no reason.

But I was going to compliment Lisa on today’s cartoon. Very clever satire, neatly executed and referencing one of my favourite movies by my favourite director.
Dare I say, Lisa, it is a bit strange, Love.
