Anyone remember “shock and awe”, and all that “collateral damage”?

I think Lisa should re-read John McCain’s speech at the convention. He wants to take those things to a lot more places. He’s also unsatisfied with just drones. He wants the army out there too.

The point of this cartoon was the release from the Justice dept. that Americans could be killed if it was determined that they could be considered an enemy combatant by the military or? The ACLU jumped in and objected to Justice making such a loose allowance for executing someone without a trial or a public determination of their being classed as an enemy of America. We are getting pretty fast and loose with our drone policy, including using them on the above mentioned “enemies.”This is just another example of Obama continuing G.W.‘s policies except more drastic. This is the administration that condemned water boarding, but it’s okay if some DOD person decides an American is now an enemy and has him taken out. I wonder how many more exceptions we are going to make to our civil rights? Start using drones in the U.S.?

Lisa has lost her grip on reality, if she ever had it!

The cartoon represents Slim Pickins riding the bomb down in the Dr Strangelove movie.

The end result may be the same. Continually violating other countries airspace will not have a good ending. Some of them already have nukes.

May feel good when you’re the only one with the drone. But do we really want a world where any country can “legally” dispense it’s version of justice in any other country? This has to stop.

Afghanistan was taken down? Excuse me, but when did that happen exactly? Slight correction: the USA is shocked how it tuned into a longer fiasco than Vietnam. -On the other hand, the world is in awe of the imbecility of the previous administration for invading Iraq for no reason.

But I was going to compliment Lisa on today’s cartoon. Very clever satire, neatly executed and referencing one of my favourite movies by my favourite director. Dare I say, Lisa, it is a bit strange, Love.

Yet after Shock and Awe in Iraq it took 8 years and anew president to get the troops out. After 10 years and a new president the troops are still in Afghanistan.

By the way, if you are so gung ho on sending in the Army, why haven’t you enlisted?

LOL, gotta love the hypocrisy of the left leaning trolls. As HOWGOZIT said, you trolls can’t refute the simple fact that Obama has expanded the use of drones for extrajudicial killings, something you trolls would have been foaming at the mouth about if it had happened under Bush.Priceless hypocrisy . . .Extrajudicial killings obama

You didn’t happen to notice the post directly above yours? (I know it might not have been there when you hit submit.)-I don’t think ‘Liberals’ are really happy with a nebulous definition of ‘high-ranking’ officials getting to make the decision. At the very least, the rules must be spelled out to Congress, secretly or no.

I read a post yesterday that these “Americans” should be indicted, tried and convicted, then put in jail. Odd that they should be convicted then put in jail. (Maybe they aren;t guilty?) I suggest that the commenter be the one to arrest them in Somalia or Pakistan.

Depends on what you mean. He won because he got the most votes. Is that what you mean? Or is the question Why did I support him? Because Romney would have been much worse. I was never in love with Obama; I never considered him the Messiah. I have a number of criticisms of his policies. But he is immeasurably better than Romney, or any other Republican.

Ima has stunning perception: 22 years in Iraq (91 til 2013, we still aren’t gone yet) and 12 years in Afghanistan, with at least two more years to go is “fast”?

Drones CAN be used to reduce collateral damage, as Obama pointed out, and has implemented, and I’m sorry, but I don’t mind taking out TRAITORS who have moved to foreign lands to wage “war” on Americans, but their use at home, IS getting scary when looking at some of the “law enforcement” uses happening, and projected. There IS a need to be cautious.

I would have loved this cartoon if it had been made by any other cartoonist. It references Dr Strange Love, one of my all-time favourite movies. However, I doubt Lisa Benson’s sincerity. It’s expediency. She senses drone attacks are finally coming up for closer scrutiny and it is something that can be held against Obama. Like our poster Ansonia above, she’s only against it if it nails Obama. Now that is Hypocrisy with a capital H.

Liberal-think:Waterboarding enemies under Bush = badKilling Americans under Obama = so what?

Not sure where “Killing Americans under Obama” comes in [Anwar al-Awlaki?] but if it means you’re voicing your displeasure against drone attacks, welcome on aboard. I care a little if you’re only doing it for expediency, if it is something that can be held against Obama, but hey, like I said, welcome on aboard!

By the way, I have asked you repeatedly but I’ve not had a reply: can you provide sources for the photos you mentioned seeing?; this was from a previous post a few days ago. Can you provide sources for stating UN “feeling” something and supporting Bush at some stage? I haven’t had a reply to that either. :(

Lisa is just as right as the other side is in lauding the “skill” and “bravery” of her side. We are totally screwed by both parties.
