Robb, do you get many invites to draw caricatures at children’s birthday parties, or do you feel left out because that opportunity eludes you?

It’s rude to ‘invite’ a person to a party for the purpose of entertaining the guests. I don’t remember the comedians name, but one was invited to a party in just this way. He asked if he could bring his wife and was told no.
He came, entertained the other guests and at the end of the party, presented the hosts with a bill for his services.

I was thinking alone those lines about the professional cartoonist showing up to party and billing the host or grandfather.

I was at an party at Auburn with Science Fiction illustrator Kelly Freas and he was drawing caricatures of the people there.
He made all the ladies look like sublime beauties.
He made the men look like drooling morons.
Except for me — he made me look better, since a drooling moron wouldn’t have been a caricature.
A friend said, “You don’t look like that, David, although I wish you did.”
