    You saw this happen? If as the defense says there were no witnesses, you only have Zimmerman’s word that that’s how it went down. We know for a fact that he pursued the boy. Why did he do that instead of leave it to the professionals (like they recommended)? We know for a fact that Zimmerman had been arrested before for reckless and violent behavior. Any way you look at it, Zimmerman’s actions are responsible for this. And if I were a 17-year-old kid being stalked by a creepy adult, I’d defend myself, too.

    “If Zimmerman had “shot 1st” then we would be having a different conversation right now. When was the gun pulled?”

    If Zimmerman had listened to the dispatcher and not followed him, we would not be having this conversation. If Zimmerman listened to his neighbors and not formed his so called neighborhood watch because it wasn’t needed, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

    I am sure it would be possible to cry for help at the same time you are struggling to pull out your gun and use it. But.. not likely.

    Children under 18 and people with no common sense should not be allowed to use guns.That is my opinion.
    Also people who have been shown to have no sense of right and wrong and who make poor choices should not carry guns.
    But a man has a right to have his home protected, or likes to hunt, not a problem. As adults they have a right to do so.
    But to suspend a kid who has bitten a corner off his graham cracker, or draws a picture of a gun should not be suspended, that is just silly.
    The schools who are that radical have no common sense. That is why teachers should not have guns in their classrooms.

    Anyway, it should be illegal for Zimmerman to Ever have a gun. He has killed another human being. And got off with o punishment. He possibly could have got worse penalty for animal abuse. .

    If you shoot a warning shot, you could get 20 years for a first offense.

    @ossiningaling

    Not in Florida. You get 10 years for pulling a gun, 20 years for firing, and if you hit someone you get life in prison. Since firing in the air is considered a felony you could get 30 years just by firing warning shots.

    here’s a link to his editorial that came with the cartoon.

    http://www.tampabay.com/opinion/editorials/editorial-a-duty-to-retreat-from-a-fla-law-as-it-stands/2131594

    The very last paragraph makes a good point. He says: ‘The most productive way to channel the frustration with the verdict is to change Florida’s “stand your ground” law to recognize that individuals who initiate confrontations are not then immune from responsibility of the consequences."

    So…who struck the first blow?
