Get to the part where nearly every single Christmas tradition from the date it’s celebrated on to the tree in everyone’s living room were one by one co-opted from pagan religious traditions.

Pope Benedict recently published a book revising Christmas.

‘Hark the Herald, Angels Sing.’ — no, they didn’t.

‘The cattle were lowing.’ — no, they weren’t.

‘Long time ago in Bethlehem, in a manger poor and small, Mary’s boy Child, Jesus Christ, was born to die for all’ —OK, this one’s true, at least according to P. Benedict.

..The Church has always been good at accepting, incorporating and absorbing local customs.Salvation does not have to mean that you have to stop saluting the flag, raising a toast or celebrating.Just the opposite,in fact, when Jesus made all foods good to eat,it meant all cultures now had value.

Was the boy child actually named “Jesus Christ” at birth? No, just Jesus, not Christ till decades after his crucifixion – and then only upon intense infighting amongst the competing “christian” factions.

The quote of a true democrat. She will grow up living on food stamps and free government housing and demanding to have her student loan for her worthless liberal arts PhD to be forgiven.

A shame that so many fools of faith believe in a big book of lies. Santa Claus is far superior for celebrating Santa Claus Day.

Spoken like a true conservative; responding to an innocent request of a child with a hate filled rant.

The quote of a true right-wing nut job. She’ll rail against everything in the public sector because, after all, society should exist only to funnel money from the working class to the parasitic class who grabbed it all for themselves when the grabbing was good; and because housing, food, and medicine should only be for those who can afford them. Also, she is reliably anti-intellectual (note the obligatory use of the adjective “worthless” when speaking of a Ph. D.). It’s (not really very) amazing that anti-darwinists are nearly always social darwinists, because “ignorant” and “mean” nearly always go together.

While it is true He was only called Jesus at birth, He came to be recognized during His lifetime as someone unique. If you want to believe that the title “Christ” evolved over decades AFTER His death, that is your right. However, the evidence strongly points to earlier recognition of His messiahship. Indeed, the Church would not have even been formed without the confession “Jesus is Lord.” Matthew 16:16: “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”

Actually, Mary was told to call him “Emmanuel,” (Matt.1.23) but she screwed up and called him Jesus instead.
