    Yes for those who get both Hanukkah and Thanks Giving off they lose out this year. Poor babies let me shed a crocodile tear for you poor hurt people…¦¬)

    No one I knew ever took Hanukkah off, it is a minor event except in the US and even at that. Overlapping relatives and friends visiting for food for both events may happen,, but only local relatives and friends.

    I don’t get the holidays off so one holiday running into another means nothing to me.

    It’s not one of the Feast days in the Bible, so not every Jew even celebrates it.

    I have a friend of mine who has sole custody of his soon-to-be 13-year-old son, and until he married another woman, he was a single dad. When the boy was in elementary school in the far northern Philadelphia suburbs, I remember him getting a day off for a Muslim holiday!

    Actually the start of Hanukkah is at sundown the day before, on my birthday. lol
