    Huh? The only thing I can think of is the kids on Xmas morning sitting amid a sea of gifts and complaining “Is that all?” But I’m still vague about the connection to T-Day.

    Start of the holiday season.

    I think that Lio has the right idea of what to do about that zombie comic strip. It involves nuclear bombs.

    I think it’s that the kid is saving his ungratefulness for Christmas, like the kids in Family Circus. But Jef has blown the punchline. It’s confusingly worded. “The Family Circus alone” makes no sense.

    Other strips do it, too.

    Some days the joke just seems to fall a little flat – but rarely. Of course, my sense of humor isn’t the baseline….

    Firing a broadside at Bil Keane. Well, well, well,

    And, hey, it just occurred to me: Does Mallett go with the one f as an homage to the Family Circus creator?

    I agree with you, but it’s also a slap at Family Circus for recycling the same gag.

    “The Family Circus” as a strip alone in doing it. Does that help you understand?

    The Family Circus alone (i.e., just considering Family Circus although there are others), has a gag with the kids surrounded by open presents, asking “Is that all?” six times each
    decade. It’s perfectly good English.

    Yeah, and Dennis the Menace uses it regularly.

    This kid has barely lived one decade. How would he know the rest unless he binged on the collections, which he apparently doesn’t like well enough to do?

    @Tom Flapwell

    Maybe his parents collect comic strip books
