My concern is that while people might provide their “products” willingly at first, situations like that tend to degenerate into entitlement and then slavery.

What is "right "is practiced thousand of ways by millions of different thoughts, different customs, different wants and different not wants. The confusion here is he put his foot in it. And can’t get it out.

And now, the quintessential devil in this matter … comes forward… sort of.

Think of the “products” (eggs, milk, etc.) as a valued commodity that people can give away or sell, like garden fruits and vegetables. (Or a non-valued commodity like zucchini.) Or like another thing that people can produce for negotiated value: their labor. That can lead to slavery, too, but we know how to avoid that danger (for the most part).

So it looks like the High Council is about to intervene. They can issue orders…but will anyone obey them?

Remember, it’s not just a preorder, it’s the only way to get it in this format during their Limited edition run. There’s only 100 copies available for preorder. The remaining 50 are for direct sales/Aaron. You will not be able to find them on Amazon later. At least until they work out printing in a new format that won’t be as expensive.
