    It’s, shall we say, enroute, if you count all the friends’ and relatives’ lodging opportunities for a pair of indigent entrepreneurs! Go West, Young Man! Just not all at once…
    Moving from South Boston to Long Beach (Dad’s change of home port in ‘55), first stop was Arlington VA, then Salt Lake. It’s wherever the friends are with a couch!

    Master, if you’re coming south on I-95, you’re going to hit Baltimore’s Beltway before ever getting near Washington. Baltimore is about 35 miles north of the District.

    That said, Zonk and Zip could never be accused of having common sense, so it’s plausible they elected not to take I-70.
