Artist Joe Staton and writer Mike Curtis co-author "Dick Tracy," the classic comic strip distributed by Tribune Media Services.
Created by Chester Gould in 1931, "Dick Tracy" is one of America's most-enduring pop-cultural icons, noteworthy for its steadfast, chisel-jawed hero and the gruesome gallery of villains he and his fearless team of Crimestoppers must outwit to put behind bars.
When longtime "Dick Tracy" artist and writer Dick Locher retired from the strip after 32 years of meritorious service, fans Staton and Curtis jumped at the chance to don the yellow fedora and trench coat. Staton has been drawing comic books for many years and has more than 1,000 credits under his belt. Curtis, who has been writing comics since 1986, is the only former law-enforcement officer to work on "Dick Tracy." Both creators are excited about the new--and dangerous--adventures they have in store for Dick Tracy and his Crimestoppers.

That’s a haunting, beautiful image of Honey in today’s last panel. Unexpected and moving.

I was hoping we’d get another peek of that spectacular woman we saw yesterday. Guess we’ll have to be content with the pic of Honeymoon’s mom. Don’t mean to sound all glum, because today’s strip is great. But after waiting patiently for more than a month, I wanted me some more Moon Maid!!

You beat me to it—I was hoping to see more of Moon Maid, too. Rats. Oh well, at least we can now officially write off Honeymoon as the new MM, based on the last two panels.

What a beautiful tribute in today’s Hall of Fame to the first responders (police, fire, etc) who died trying to save others in the World Trade Center. Thanks for remembering.

Arthur’s hair and shirt are the correct color and so are Moon Maid’s antenna.

Phishface’s ultimate scheme is either to corner the sushi market and drive up prices, or accelerate global warming by injecting massive amounts of methane into the atmosphere…

One of the alternative identities for the mystery vigilante that I had considered was that it was a suddenly-matured (moon genetics, you know) Honeymoon. Today’s expressive strip rules that out. But I am still reluctant to believe that what Junior (Dad) and Dick (Pop Pop) told Honeymoon about that fateful day was incorrect. Moon Maid, I believe, is dead and will remain dead. But someone is doing a fine job of looking like a living Moon Maid!

RIP, Capt. Mazza and other heroes of 9-11.

@Sisyphos
Agreed on all counts! Except….how do you account for those Moon Maid eyes in yesterday’s strip? I don’t have an answer myself, just wondering what you think? Totally with you that whoever it is, she has mad skills imitating Moon Maid.
