This has been stuck in my head since I first read this strip at 1:15 this AM.You might wake up some morningTo the sound of something moving past your window in the windAnd if you’re quick enough to riseYou’ll catch the fleeting glimpse of someone’s fading shadowOut on the new horizon you may see the floating motion of a distant pair of wingsAnd if the sleep has left your earsYou might hear footsteps running through an open meadowDon’t be concerned it will not harm youIt’s only me pursuing something I’m not sure ofAcross my dreams with nets of wonder I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
You might have heard my footstepsEcho softly in the distance through the canyons of your mindI might have even called your name as I ran searching after something to believe in You might have seen me runnin’Through the long abandonned ruins of the dreams you left behindIf you remember something thereThat glided past you followed close by heavy breathingDon’t be concerned it will not harm youIt’s only me pursuing something I’m not sure ofAcross my dreams with nets of wonder I chase the bright elusive butterfly of loveI chase the bright butterfly of love I chase the bright butterfly of loveBu-bu-bu-butterfly of love bu-bu-bu-butterfly of love
I actually fantasize about going to Boise, Idaho. We don’t have the lottery here in Utah, so a lot of people go up to Malad, just over the state line, to pay the “idiot tax”. If I won the jackpot I’d have to go to Boise to collect my winnings.
I’ve only been to Boise a couple of times, but I found it to be a pleasant place. Nice setting, tidy little downtown; a river runs through it. Were I to choose to live in a small town, Boise would rank high on my list.

I spent a lifetime in Boise, Idaho once. I was there for about five hours.

Kilimanjaro is a mountain. Unless it’s hollow, like the Rock of Gibraltar is now, I don’t think there are “halls.”

All that traveling can be tiring.

I live in Boise. Weird it was picked. Great place though if you like the outdoors, public land, nice city parks, low crime, great weather.

It’s Earl’s daydream. If he wants to put halls in Mt Kilimanjaro, let him. No point in having a daydream if everything is realistic and correct.
joegeethree almost 12 years ago
Earl may have meant the “Halls of Montezuma.” Kilimanjaro/Montezuma, same difference. Easy enough mistake for an old codger.

Seems I recall there was a 1950’s horror movie about
Abominable snowmen living in “caves” in Kilimanjaro..
I wonder if those are the halls Earl is talking about..
