Say it isn’t so! I just can’t bear the thought that Kim—of all people!—is turning into a Mom-zilla.

In answer to Frisco Mel yesterday: agreed! Delightful to think who will be the lucky first lesbians or gays to be married in this strip.

In response to Corzak yesterday: Nothing smug about it. Being loved didn’t happen because I’m smart, it happened because I was open to it. It sure wouldn’t have happened if I’d been convinced that love only happens to people who are too dumb to know better.

Really—ya have to pity the readers who don’t have a good word to say for this sequence. You’re begrudging COMIC STRIP CHARACTERS a love life?

Instead of the expense of a wedding or justice of the peace, just live together, or if they must, have a common law marriage.

In an etch-a-sketch world, Committment means nothing. When the love in your heart is for just dry goods for personal advancement. What will your other half think they are? A prop?

364 seats would just about accommodate all the major and minor characters who’ve appeared in Doonesbury over the years. Just a guess.

Is there a wedding bug going around the entertainment world right now. On television, Mike & Molly got hitched, Howard & Bernadette tied the knot on “The Big Bang Theory,” and in comics, Arlo & Janis’ son Gene is waffling about marriage to Mary Lou. Then there’s Alex and Leo. Break the pattern. ELOPE!

I’m tired of going to fancy weddings, check in hand, with 346 guests, only to have the couple divorce in a few years.

The secret to a successful marriage is to marry in secret and notify the parents and in-laws after the nuptials are completed. Saves much grief, aggravation, and financial drain. After all, whose wedding is it?

What “vast majority” are you referring to? The latest polls show between 47 and 52 percent IN FAVOR of gay marriage, with smaller numbers opposed in all polls. Where did you get your numbers?

“They could rent a circus tent for the wedding.” J.J.’s probably considered it.They would need it for all the clowns. It would be a circus, but with only one ring.

That should not be surprising considering that this concept has been drummed into them for years. It’s politically incorrect to say anything negative about same sex unions. “What you sow, you shall reap.”

Or press CTRL + End to go to the last cell, last row used.

Alex and Leo, here in Maryland we have a lovely eloping chapel in the town of Elkton, Cecil County. You could then spend the honeymoon on the beach, just a two-three hour drive away. Come on down!http://cecilcounty.wordpress.com/2011/02/14/talk-explores-how-elkton-became-the-elopement-capital-of-the-east/

It’s probably all of Mike & Kim’s business colleagues, probably none of whom will go to CT for the wedding. On the other hand, it will motivate Leo’s mom to invite the entire trailer park. And then there’s the issue of whether all those gifts will fit in the trailer – or have we got to the point of figuring out where they’ll live?

Just a good comical number or does it also happen to be the number of recurring characters strip history?

The joke is (I Assume) is that there was that MANY different characters that appeared in the history of the comic series. GOSH DANG, Doonesbury is AWESOME! It’s a Awesome creative well written mixed bag of different characters and different topics. Its soo good it’s not even funny.
