Earl is blessed. He is deaf.

I bet his ears are burning.

Earl’s showing plenty of wisdom right now. Pearl on the other hand, not so much.

At their age, it’s cheaper to put up with them than to get rid of them.

Just keep on keepin’ on!

Instead of getting serious about one’s attitude and how it shapes one’s views of reality, it’s easier to get clever and obtuse with one’s insults of the ‘outgroup’…you know, high school ‘innies’?

Of course sharing insults about others does make some kinds of friendships(?) possible.

Maybe Earl (if he knows what they’re saying at all) is wise enough to know that it’s all good. When it comes to enemies and critics, let them be what they are; living well really is the best revenge — sometimes being alive at all is enough for the day.
