    Hey Earl, how much thinking it required to recall your grandpa ?

    No kid. The correct answer is “Wow. One day I’m going to be as smart as Grampa.”

    He meant, use your instincts, go with your gut, and run the other way, when grandpa is confusing you!!!

    He meant “be a sheep, so I can think for you.”

    Sigh. When I was a kid, they actually taught critical thinking, despite so many of my generation (GenX) not learning it. Today, I gather that they teach kids to just “accept” when the teacher makes no logical sense.

    Isn’t it interesting that first the Communists, then the National Socialists, took up the “don’t think, just accept” business and now it’s been taught in schools for at least a decade?

    Am I the only one who thinks it’s adorable how they sit on the couch together like that? Love it. When I have kids, I’ll have to do that with them. Err . . . given that I can get rid of the severely uncomfortable couch I have now . . .

    I took it as don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be, but then again this is Earl.

    @The Life I Draw Upon

    @ Psychlady….I take it the same way. Sometimes our gut reaction is the correct one. We can ‘analyse’ something till it’s unrecognizable.

    I love the way Opal and Earl present the noosphere to Nelson. (I’m so excited….my first chance to use my “word of the day”!! :)
