Re the Mother Lion vignette on the Blog: What a great story. Only Mom has the motivation to take the risk. I can believe that the cub will go right back and do it again, too.
My Siamese climbs onto our roof by climbing a tree and jumping down from a limb. She’s afraid to go back that way, so she howls (as Siamese will) until I go out, climb up on the patio table, and rescue her. As soon as I reach out my arms, she starts to purr (and Siamese can shake the walls with their purr). She does this every single day. My wife doesn’t understand why I put up with this, but Dawn and I do.
At the risk of prolonging the agony of “Fluffy” I offer a similar tribute to a beloved pet by The Shaggs – My Pal Foot Foot(I truely am sorry for this.)
Anent the whale stamps: Japanese fishermen recorded their daily catch by making impressions on rice paper with the actual fish dipped in paint, Gyotaku Fish Prints
I had a booth next to a Japanese artist from Tennessee one year at a Holiday Fair and he’d made these prints from his catches in a local river.
I just love GoComics. The current one is actually appearing in the mailing, but when I click on it for comments, I get yesterday’s (and this is the third time it’s happened today).
Anyway, I don’t feel neglected. Sad, maybe, but not neglected.

This looks like the sequel to a Kafka story. Hope he does better than Gregor did.

Marley may have lifted that from Mose Allison’s song “I don’t worry ‘bout a thing ’cause I know nothing’s gonna turn out right,” circa 1962 or so.
