Plus, it’s so far removed that only a science hating creationist would consider it a close resemblance.

Anyone who is at all familiar with the theory of evolution knows that the theory describes a proccess taking many generations of minute changes, not creatures spontaneously reshaping into new forms.

It’s like “mutants” in comic books, right? — ordinary people who get immediately and permanently changed into something more interesting when they’re exposed to glowing goo, get bitten by something unusual, etc..Never mind that it doesn’t work that way…mutations only affect succeeding generations, and even then only if the affected individual survives the mutagen itself long enough to have offspring, and if the mutation itself isn’t lethal to those offspring. Biologically, most of them are lethal — which is why evolution takes so long: mutations that are actually favorable are very few and far between. (The results may be dramatic and “sudden” in geological time, and there’s Gould’s punctuated equilibrium.).All of which is beside the point anyway. Comic strip biology, like cartoon physics, should never be confused with reality…only enjoyed for the humor of its absurdity.

The ridiculousness of the fish’s theory matches the blindness that many scientists have. So many choose to believe the claims of a few without investigating the existing facts for themselves. I have little faith in science, because real scientists constantly find evidence that contradicts long-accepted ’facts".

oh, going for the big, frickin` organism. Each solar system is an atom within a molecule that is a galaxy. All those galaxies (molecules) add up to one HUGE thing. What exactly are we…

I like this strip. Another strip that I really like is “Freshly Squeezed” … I suggest you add it to your “Comic Page” and read it for a few days … I think you will want to keep it there. It is very well drawn and written.

I’ve heard at least one college-educated adult who believes in evolution make it sound like animals evolve “on purpose”. I don’t think this is all that uncommon.

Flower, Hunter, that’s pretty much the way I see things, too. We’re part of something bigger, and smaller things are part of us…It all seems to be the same…..until you get to that quantum level…..Man, I’m glad I don’t live down there, It really gets pretty freaky down there……

Science aside, is that Garfield or Heathcliff? I can’t tell one orange tabby from another… Oh and you guys are right… Those fish need to forget about evolution and get down on their knees and pray… for knees first I guess… Then!

I accept that we are made of star dust. That we are a speck of dust upon a slightly larger speck of dust. I’m just a little worried about who holds all the marbles. And what they intend to do with all those marbles.

Even as a lifelong churchgoer, I’ve always appreciated science enough to know that it does not deny the existence of a Creator, but merely uncover his methods. Sadly, I find that too many members of my faith seem to think the comic above is an accurate description of what evolutionists believe. Worse yet, some use it to lampoon science without realizing how foolish it makes them look.
