Wow, this whole Trubble telescope story arc really lens itself to a lot of bad puns, doesn’t it? You can just imageine the possibilities, if you reflect on it for a little while and focus.

I am keeping track of the few times where Winky’s spleen is visibly hit by whatever disaster has overtaken him. This is one of those few times.

Hey, where was the Trubble when the machines revolted? And did you have your bedroom curtains closed?

Winky needs a better space suit. By the way, does he remind anyone else of Mr. Bill, or is it just me? Ohhhhh, noooooooooo!!

So that’s where the spleen is located! Comics sure are educational!

Indeed, Grasshopper. But then, there would no longer be a plucky comic relief in this strip, would there (unless you counted, of course, the indestructible Ensign Kelly)? :)

Winky’s spacesuit did block the light without being burned through, but, being transparent to x-rays, let the focused rays through to parbroil his spleen from the inside out.

    Glass can focus x-rays?

(Why am I asking? “Cartoon physics”!) :)

It IS fun to pop ants with a magnifying glass. Not harmless or minimally aggressive ants, but fire ants fo’ sho’.
