This is disappointing. All I can say is that we have to keep on electing new Congressmen, until Congress gets the message that they are expected to do their jobs on behalf of the public welfare, and not on behalf of Big Profits –including their own.
harley: The way I understand fair tax is that it’s a sales tax to replace income tax. I’m curious how this system would try and prevent cross-border shopping to areas where there is no such tax?
Should be easy to elect new Congressman and Senators, so long as they are actually thrown into jail when they commit crimes. These things should not be ethics investigations, they should be criminal investigations, eh?

I don’t know how that would bedone, but I like the idea. Especially the part about not getting taxed on your investments, that would solve headaches about RRSPs.
