Turning off the a sizable amount of the viewers NBC News currently has does not seem like it will improve their ratings and the extra advertising revenue that would bring. It’s more likely it will have the opposite effect.

I continue to lose my faith in MSNBC daily. This is just the latest assault on my intelligence. They destroyed Meet the Press with Chuck Todd, and they sent Tim Russert spinning in his grave. They shitcanned Keith Olbermann and looks like they cannot handle Rachel Maddow anymore, so they have downsized her. I only continue to watch Morning Joe because of Mika, but I was shocked when she divorced her husband to marry Joe. Joe Scarborough is a fraud. Sorry for the rant.

Amazing how so many on the left fear people that think differently. Or look differently. Or talk differently. Or live differently. ….

But isn’t NBC part of the lame stream liberal media? Why would they hire trump loving, election denying, pathologically lying, propaganda spewing magats?

I felt the same when Fox hired Juan Williams when NPR canned him. They both must have a reason that most of us cannot comprehend. Maybe they NBC thought they could get her to hammer Trump, seeing he helped run her off.

She also noted that MSNBC leadership initially “did not object to Ronna McDaniel to not being hired by NBC New when the matter first arose.” She said that when the hiring was announced and “MSNBC staff essentially, unanimously and instantly expressed outrage, our leadership at MSNBC heard us, understood, and adjusted course.”

Maddow said that they were told over the weekend “in clear terms, ‘Ronna McDaniel will not appear on our air. Ronna McDaniel will not be on MSNBC.’ I give you that level of detail because there has been an effort since by other parts of the company to muddy that up in the press and make it seem like that’s not what happened at MSNBC. I can assure you that is what happened at MSNBC. Ronna McDaniel will not appear on MSNBC, so says our boss since Saturday, and it has never been anything other than clear.”

Talking airheads are a dime a dozen, but election denying lunatics are a different matter entirely.

This is another example of the main stream media failing to do the job of simply telling the truth. They have failed miserably because they wanted to tell all sides of the story, even when they were well aware, or at least should have been that one side was making up the facts as they went along.

The media in rural America has been deliberately designed by 1%ers to produce MAGAts. They own the news outlets that broadcast the conservative propaganda. These are people who were raised listening to Rush Limbaugh and then Fox News. In some areas, the only actual news is on the local main stream networks, and they have bent over backwards for years to not take sides, even when one side is obviously lying. And, the people they have coffee with, go to church (or the bar) with etc are dealing with the same situation. That means that real people that you trust are backing up what you are getting from the propaganda machine. Unless you are a really intelligent, involved person, you are going to accept the world you see, unaware that it has been paid for and organized by people who are working against your best interests.

If the media is to be worth anything, they have to report what is being said and then explain how well it conforms to reality. Their failure to do this for the last few decades has produced a population that can’t tell when they are being lied to, and given us Trump.

Is Lauren Boebert next up to be hired? She’ll need a new job soon. NBC News is dead to me.

This is a sterling example of why I, for one, was happy to see the old “Fairness Doctrine” bite the dust. The idea that there are always exactly (and only) 2 equally worthy sides to each issue is so monumentally, obviously wrong that I was stunned that it was ever embodied in public policy in the first place. “We’ve now heard from actual chemists as to why water is wet, so let’s turn to our favorite homeopathic shaman who’ll get equal time to explain the other side of the story.”

Off-topic random thot for the day: When you see pix of George W. Bush, Barack Obama, or Joe Biden smiling or laffing (and there are a lot of them), they seem genuinely happy. When you see pix of Donald Trump smiling, it seems either forced, fakey, or smirky, as if he’s just put one over on someone and is really pleased about it. And I don’t remember ever seeing a pic of him actually laffing. Am I reading way too much into this?
