I have exactly the same breakfast about 5.5 mornings of the week. Sundays different. And most of the other the off mornings are the same but with a couple of added berries. It’s not oatmeal, but it might as well be. What’s great about it is that it’s reliably enjoyable, quite quick and with good nutrition. Counting the cool down on my tea, it takes about 10 minutes, maybe 15. I like it as I eat it, but I don’t remember that meal, I remember that I ate what I usually do.
A great big bowl of steel cut oats, soaked in fresh buttermilk, cooked perfectly and finished with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, banana and walnuts… what’s not to forget??? One of my favorite breakfasts and well worth it!!
Just this minute finished a big bowl of oatmeal. Unfortunately while cooking them and adding dried cranberries, a large clump fell into the pan. Going to be an interesting morning.
repeat? I vaguely remember this punchline, but maybe it was another strip. they all run together in my brain sometimes. funny the tricks your mind will play on you when you reach a certain age.
I get sick just thinking about Oatmeal, convulse about Cream of Wheat, don’t want to hear about what happens eating Farina. Bacon, bacon, sausage, pork chop, that’s breakfast!
A 90-years man met a 85-lady in a restaurant, and liking her company and wishing to continue the relation asks her, “Excuse me, am I coming here often?”
Depends on how you make it! I make it healthy and delicious! Oatmeal raisin with a bunch of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves with vanilla. Bananas with walnuts a bit of brown sugar and some milk. Stew some apples first with some cinnamon sticks, set aside, add to cooked oatmeal. And the Colon Blow: raisins, cranberries, prunes (cut up small) and no sugar added, cut up dates with some walnuts — holy moly! yum!
There are only two ways I’d remember eating oatmeal for breakfast: 1) oatmeal cookies; 2) Several oatmeal cookies, each with a scoop of ice cream on top. Otherwise, I’m not eating it.

Good question, Earl. Unfortunately, I don’t remember, either.

Does he remember the raisins but not the oatmeal as if the raisins were floating in air in his bowl.

I do – especially when I could have had bacon or sausages & eggs instead.

I might not remember the oatmeal, but that lump in my stomach is a sure-fire reminder.

If my wife told me she was going to make me oatmeal for breakfast, I would just politely tell her, “Don’t bother, I’ll make my own breakfast.”

His colon might remember the oatmeal later.

Ceral or scrambled eggs with toast, depending on the mood, or a peanut butter jelly sandwich. I’m easy.

I’ll eat it hot with sugar and cinnamon, but no milk on it. Don’t care much for oatmeal, but I do like it dry right out of the container. Figure that.

It’s especially forgettable because Opal used water from the river Lethe to make it.
She should try flavoring it with a little rosemary.

Your bathroom schedule should remind you that you ate all that oatmeal.

I grew up on Oatmeal and Cream of Wheat, and still have them regularly. Add fruit and nuts, yum!
