Will you happy if is a negative result or happy if is a positive. What deep down is the answer to the what you hope for the results. Do you know?

Toni i hope it’s positive, and that you are pregnant.

It’s a misdirection?

If everybody waited until the “right time” to have a baby, the human race would be extinct.

“Luann, the Next Generation”? Actually Greg Evans’ daughter Karen now co writes this strip.

“He’ll think he’s becoming a dad”? Yeah, that’s kinda how it works, isn’t it?

If she is pregnant, will they have to speed up how fast time passes in Luann. Going by how slow time passes the poor women could be pregnant for years cartoon time. Gives a chance for the characters to grow and develop much faster would be a nice change.

Ginormous isn’t really accurate. It’ll probably be about eight pounds.

They are going to drag this out as long as possible, aren’t they….TAKE THE TEST!

Come on Toni. It’s been what? 15 years since your wedding. Actually your niece should be out of high school by now. Way past time for you and Brad to start a family. You’ve overcome so much since meeting Brad. You know he’ll be a good dad and you’ll be right at his side guiding you. If you’re preggers, you have the next 8 months to get used to the idea.

Most of the time women are between 2-4 weeks along when they realize they’re late which is why I said 8 months. Actually the length of a woman’s pregnancy is 40 weeks which is actually 10 months but the Obstertics say 9 months because their patients are likely to be already around 4 weeks in gestation by their first visit in their offices.

At the rate things are moving it will be April before Brad learns the results of the test. Gee, you think this will be an April Fool story?

So—if the test proves positive, will Toni get an abortion? Or maybe insist that the baby be put up for adoption? And how will that affect her relationship with Brad? And his parents, who want a grandchild?

Also, how would Luann feel about being an aunt? And would Bernice try to “analyze” Luann’s feelings?

Why would she be discussing something so personal, with a “houseguest”.?

I remember once hearing a wise saying about choosing your course depending on the results of a coin flip, rochambeau (rock paper scissors), short straw, etc. The second you find out what luck says you should get, you suddenly know what you Really wanted the answer to be.

TJ says Brad is dying to start a family. Uh – TJ, we are short one vote on this issue.

She should hope it’s not a big something, lest she needs a C-section.

In my experience, and I confess to being male, motherhood is a wonderful thing. Or am I out of date?

It’s pretty obvious that Toni does not want kids.

Toni confides in TJ (of ALL people) and NOT her husband, Brad.

So which IS it Toni?

Afraid of giving Brad the Good News he’s been waiting for years?

Or afraid of showing Brad the Glee when you find out the test is negative?

Again, I’m hoping the test IS negative.

Because Toni and Brad have a LOT of things to work out once and for all, BESIDES whether or not a child will EVER be apart of their future.

Starting with WHY TJ is allowed to be all up into THEIR “Very personal business” FIRST?

Toni’s testing our patience…well, we’ll wait.

If Toni IS pregnant, will it finally be enough for them to force Jonah to take care of his own kid Shannon?

Man, gotta be big if it reaches ginormous proportions.

I’m sensing a sitcom-esk miscommunication bit coming up.

Reminds me of the time I held, in my hand, the letter that brought the news that I did/didn’t get admitted to the Masters degree program I’d applied to. I held the letter for 45 minutes before opening it, reviewing the implications on my life, either way.

You’re going to be a parent, things will change, embrace it as it is part of life. A lot of work, scary times but a heck of a lot of satisfaction!

Why wouldn’t you want your husband to know you’re pregnant? Hmmm.

I think it’ll be negative. And somehow Brad and Toni will end up fostering Piro’s 6 siblings.

Look at all the help you’ll get from Shannon if you do have a baby. Maybe it will help mature a bit. As a Paramedic, you’ll be able to work well into the pregnancy and return to work not long after delivery. You don’t need to put you career on hold forever.

That’s a pregnant pause if I ever saw one.

I remember an episode of Mash where Maj.Margaret Houlihan missed her period and decided it was a baby coming. She could’ve had a physical but didn’t want anyone in the camp to know, so they started looking for a rabbit to slaughter to do the pregnancy test. When it came out negative, and the rabbit, Babbitt, Radar’s pet, was saved, she went through joy and sadness.

What if the test is positive and you two really are going to be parents? How will you react? How will you tell everyone else?

What’s funny to me is my wife took five tests for the first!!!

Better never than late.

Maybe she hasn’t told Brad because she doesn’t want him to get his hopes up in case it’s negative. Easier to say after hey I took a test etc. And why not tell TJ? She needed someone to talk to and I have to assume they are friends after living together for so long. It’s not like she told him the result.

She is way more comfortable talking about this with TJ than I would have guessed.

I’m waiting for Shannon to get hit with the reality she is NOT the “center of the universe” any longer…long overdue (pardon the pun).

Those home tests are pretty accurate, better than peeing into a bucket of frogs

It is time to let it all hang out……..

She doesn’t look very happy.

The obvious reason Toni is sharing this information with TJ is Brad. They must have never discussed having a family, and he is constantly hinting for it, but she seems to not want children. She’s been pretty clear about her feelings, but he persists. Could he really be happy with a pregnant wife knowing she did not choose or want to have a baby? I feel sorry for Toni. If she is pregnant, everyone will be gushing and happy while she’s miserable and scared. It will be interesting to see how G&K resolve this complicated storyline. Maybe Luann can make some puppets?

Seen from this point of view, it’s not just fear. Toni doesn’t want to risk giving Brad false hope and she’s right. Maybe it’s not even the first time she has done the test. I don’t know what will happen if Toni is pregnant, but I hope she and Brad continue to be together and can be happy.

What will be will be, don’t fret over it Toni.

Spoiler alert: it’ll be nothing.

At last, an interesting story line.

One must admit they certainly are something. I’m rather fond of mine. And the grandchildren….ooh yea-ah!!

I hafta say, Tony is dead set against starting a family. I would’ve thought by now she’d soften up.

Okay, now I get why she would confide in TJ before talking to Brad.

How is Shannon going to react to a new baby?

Why on earth would she tell TJ first? Weeeeird.

If you’re looking for hints, I think that this is an excellent chance to extend the story into a new generation and deal with the way everyone, including her niece, deals with the information. Yes!

Well I think it would be a great arc for her to be pregnant. Hopefully, the Evans can’t screw that saga up with bad writing. I don’t know why she’s neutral right now, it could be a lot of reasons. I could see her being scared about being a mom, scared about being financially secure, scared of having a situation like Jonah-Shannon, scared she might not be but disappointed to have to tell Brad, etc. There are just so many reasons here, shoot I haven’t read the strip for the longest time but it could be something related to her own childhood and growing up (what were her and Jonah’s parents like maybe she’s afraid of becoming or acting like them). Maybe she’s worried about how it could impact her career. Also, she’s talking to TJ about this right now because he’s home and he asked and even though she really didn’t want to address it (she probably subconsciously wanted to talk about it with someone). TJ is there and he asked so she’s trying to remain level-headed and figure out how to talk to Brad, while navigating her own feelings on the matter. Being a man, I don’t know but I suspect women talk to other women sometimes about possibly being pregnant before talking to their partners, especially if they are navigating emotions and feelings they are uncertain about so talking to TJ doesn’t seem that odd. Also, I think between yesterday and today, TJ is trying to be both empathetic and supportive, his mannerisms play like man I really don’t know what to say or do right now so I’ll just try to be a good listening friend. Sure he throws in a snarky comment but that’s more his personality which Toni is at this point used too. And I think she can see he’s not trying to over step either. I really don’t think he’s being creepy just kind of whoa this could be big and how could I help.

if it’s a yes, her career choice doesn’t allow her to work from home. To whoever said this comic needs a breath of fresh air— I agree. Let’s move on? Can Luann finally get out of college? Will Brad ever have a family? Does Gunther finally dump Bets? Will TJ move on and get an apartment of his own? and for the love of God please fix Bernice.

Toni. Most regular readers know you haven’t felt ready to start a family. Possibly because of an example like your brother, who drops Shanon off with you, seeming at a downbeat. but look at Brad’s parents. They love helping you out with Shannon, and, will love helping you out IF you are preggers.

I hope TJ honors her privacy about this…he dragged it out of her.
