By my math, you’d have to live to about 107 years old to be assured of your 15 minutes. Though I’m WAGing things like how many simultaneous “moments of fame” are reasonable…

Exit through the Hirshhorn. On the other hand, he did introduce Velvet Underground.

I’m reminded of the truism that if you see someone you respected when you were young suddenly trending on social media, you’d best hope they died.

Though I’m not a fan of Warhol, I think you’re misquoting him. Though he said everyone has their 15 minutes, he didn’t say everyone would be famous for ONLY 15 minutes. The problem with him wasn’t his lack of credibility (in this instance) but with your reading into it what wasn’t there.

These two are already famous in my book.It remains to be seen if they remain famous after the strip goes dark.

Warhol discussion. Steelers logo on T-shirt. Two Pittsburgh references. Cool.

    1) Andy Warhol over-estimated by 14 minutes.

    2) I doubt that “these kids today” know who Andy Warhol was.

After I am dead. Fame leads to your personal life being invaded and I like my personal life too much for that. It is why a lot of famous people become drug addicts. They get trapped in their home by their fans and get bored with lots of money (and some level of insecurity feeling they do not deserve the idolization).

Isn’t it time for a Warhol revival? Loved his pictures of Marilyn Monroe.

Most artists, whatever their field, have both their favorites from their work and their least liked. Rare that public choice matches their personal list.

This arc is interesting because it sinks out of sight before Frazz answers Caulfield’s question. Maybe that is the answer.

When I was a little kid, my folks told me it was rude to point and emphasized it by noting that, when you do, you’ve got three other fingers pointing back at you. Evidently none of the kids in Frazzworld has ever heard that advice.

Through history, there have been several people who paraphrased the same essential quote; that it’s better to have people ask “Why haven’t they made a statue of him” than ask, “Why did they make a statue of him?”

Credible, yes. Accurate, no. How many revivals, including posthumous, have Tiny Tim, and others had?
