There is a play, “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some)”, which starts to do a version of “Rudolph”, but for copyright reasons changes it to the story of “Gustav, the Green-Nosed ReinGoat”.

I gnu that.

OH boy. Hopefully tomorrow Frazz with be out doing his Xmas Yule run early in the morning. Nautical Twilight starts at 0557 so that is when I want to be out doing my daily constitutional. Civil Twilight at 0628, Dawn at 0656. To Frazz and Jef and all my fellow fans: Be Merry and Happy this holiday season.

Um, Gnus aren’t arctic dwellers. It’s Peter the green-Pawed Polar bear protecting the team on it’s perilous trek.

Caulfield is out of step most of the time but gets upset when something doesn’t fit the mold.

A new tradition is born! Expect stuffed Gnus in the stores by February…

In Santa Barbara there used to be an alternative newspaper called "The Gnus in Review.” Say it aloud. And the banner showed several gnus walking past – in review.

“Gus-TAV the GREEN nosed GUH-nu” sounds alliterative to me.

If you don’t like antelopes, then no gnus is good news.

It’s so that Santa can conform to proper aviation standards while in everyone’s airspace

No alliteration problem if he just made Gustav a gannet…

There are other puns that only make sense in print. One of my faves is “Cole’s Law: thinly sliced cabbage.”

I’ll bet there are also ones that fall flat in print but sound funny when spoken, but I can’t think of any examples right now.

I don’t believe Gustav is actually Gnu.

But you gotta admit, he’s just as good as Gnu!
