I texted a friend and asked her to call my phone as I had misplaced it……when she asked how was I able to text her if I couldn’t find my phone I told her I was using my new microwave since it’s Bluetooth capable. Soon enough my phone rang, it was her. I need new friends. Tru story!

This reminds me of part of an I Love Lucy episode where Ethel explained to Lucy that at the same time every morning Fred would ask her where his glasses were, and they’d always be on the top of his head.

I love Earls eyes with no glasses. Reminds me of the joke about the guy with a glass eye, and he says I’ll keep an eye out for them.

Cost a fortune, but I bought three pairs of prescription eyeglasses a few months ago. Haven’t wasted a minute searching since.

“Keeping an eye out for it” reminds me of the John Sayles film, The Brother From Another Planet. The “Brother” could remove an eyeball and hide it somewhere to act like a hidden camera. Later he could replace his eyeball and in his brain playback everything that happened while the eyeball was hidden.

I’m nearsighted and I usually have an established place where I set my eyeglasses before going to bed. Occasionally, when I have to take them off during the day, I try to put them in a high contrast area so I can see where they are easily. I don’t know how bad Earl’s eyesight is but as for me, I would never prop them up on the top of my head. I need them to see things clearly that are further than a foot away!

Advice I’ve taken when I set something down is to firmly point at it. Seems to staple the memory in place.

I use my Fitbit (or Alexa) to find my phone. When I wore glasses, my vision was so bad I wasn’t walking around without them. I was going to teach my dog to find my keys by scent, until I realized she really doesn’t understand words, so I leave them in my purse and use the button on the door to get in and my car has push button start. I never have to touch the fob. The car won’t start if I don’t have my purse, so I never leave home without that, either. It works for me.

Good old Amazon sells little Bluetooth doodads you can stick on things that grow legs to call and they sing Die Zauberflöte. But small enough for glass will take a little more time or people will stare.

One time I saw my sister with three pairs of glasses pushed up on her forehead like that. And she was looking for a fourth pair, too.

She buys ‘em from the dollar store ’cause she’s always losing them.

That joke is so old, the first time it was told the Dead Sea was just sick. (From ’Boy’s Life’ in the 1980’s.)
