Constitution Article 1 Section 3 Clause 6: “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments…. And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.”

Random thot: If 16 senators just happen to call in sick on the day the vote is to be taken, ⅔ of the remaining 84 would be 56. Just sayin’.

Seditionist Senator Josh Hawley (Fascist-Missouri) sings:

“When I was a punk folks had reason

To expect someday I’d commit treason

I did my best to prove them right

When I told a mob of traitors to go out and fight"

(When he told a mob of traitors to go out and fight)

“And though the Biggest Lie was nothing but a ruse

They revolted just for me (also Trump and Cruz)"

(And though the Biggest Lie was nothing but a ruse

They revolted just for him—also Trump and Cruz

[At this point I lost interest, because it’s just too damn depressing that we’re even bothering to pretend that enough Republicans care even the TINIEST DAMN FREAKIN’ bit about their country to convict Traitor Trump.]

Nah, won’t happens… the reason that MAGhats brains are so small is because they come fitted with bulky cognitive dissonance crumple zones.

They had to jettison normal brain capacities for such things as shame, empathy or basic numeracy so to still be able to walk, breath and yell slogans but, in exchange, they don’t have to worry about harming themselves while holding multiple self-contradictory ideas at the same time.

Cognitive dissonance doesn’t exist for conspiracy thinkers. It’s all part of the plan.

It’s going to be interesting when March 4th comes around and Trump again is not inaugurated president. Unless he’s planning a fake inauguration for his rubes to show up and give him more of their money. Which still won’t make him the President of the USA, but will put more money in his pocket.

What will be really interesting is when they try to right their donations to Trump off on their taxes and they find out the money they gave Trump is not tax deductible. I’m thinking there are going to be a lot of tax audits coming up.

The mark of a Trumper is the ability to hold two opposite ideas in his head at the same time … and believe them both.

Real world MAGAts don’t get conflicted about this – they simply say Trump is above the law and above reproach, and only Democrats should pay a price.

Trump began inciting the insurrection as soon as July, he knew that he had a good chance of losing reelection. He began the theme that the election was rigged and was stolen from him and his supporters even before the election actually was held, stepping up that rhetoric as it became more apparent that he was going to lose. Once he did lose, he filed 60 something court cases protesting the outcome, none of which he won, most of which were thrown out for lack of evidence.

As soon as the election was called for Biden, he started sending out tweets calling for his supporters to gather in D.C. on January 6, ready to fight- or “they would not have a country’. They actually believed that they were fighting for their country, and for the true President of United States against a fraud who had stolen the election. And, they greatly outnumbered the Capitol Police. He didn’t send any additional help, when it was obvious that the mob would overtake the Capitol and quite likely actually kill congress members, and refused to do so when it was requested.Mike Pence had to do that, from the room where he and his family were hiding from Trump’s mob. Mike Pence is actually a hero in all this mess. He was willing to follow his constitutional duty and count the electoral votes. And, that was before he was confronted with a mob chanting “Hang Mike Pence”, and setting up a gallows on the capitol lawn. There are a few other Republican heroes, but not enough. Most of them are going to vote, against overwhelming evidence to keep their jobs because they believe that their constituents support Trump’s mob. But even those people who were part of the mob realizing they were duped. Republicans have gone too far this time. And, the truth of the situation is going to become more and more apparent as time goes by. The Republicans who vote to acquit Trump because they believe their base wants them to may get a surprise the next time they run for reelection.

Fake cartoon. Trump’s supporters aren’t bothered by contradictions. In fact, they don’t believe they exist.

Beautiful portrayal, though, of what the contradictions are in this case.
