I love the way that Goldie is snuggled on the Man and Elvis is trying to claim the Woman and Puck is right between them.

Hey, I like British mysteries, the characters are usually so well developed. Also, is the TV time interrupted by the nightly “running of the cats”?

I love how Murder mysteries are ‘comfort’ shows. I know what they mean, though. The deaths on some shows are always original. Although they’d have to go some to beat the New Zealand show “Brokenwood Mysteries”.

A bit OT. Someone asked about cats and tofu the other day.A day or two after She-For-Whom-All-The-Fuzzy-Blankets-In-The-House-Have-Been-Deployed came from the RSPCA and took over command, Chief Slave (though we had not been given our ranks at that stage) put down some tofu for Her to try. She looked at it aghast, then turned to me and announced Her opinion very clearly and loudly. Standards in the household were going to improve rapidly to match Her requirements. She was still a kitten then, but She knew that She had to make Her staff toe the line at once.

I like mysteries in general. Actually been streaming through “McMillan and Wife”, did not realize that it went for 6 seasons and 40 90-120 minute episodes…… I think “The Prisoner” and "The Avengers’ (with Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg/Emma Peel, Honor Blackman RIP/Cathy Gale) are next up for late night viewing…….

If Marie does not go up stairs to bed at the correct time, Belle will come down, stare at her an meow until she moves. It is like having a short, furry parent that is telling you to go to bed.

Hey, what happened to the cat fight?? Who won? Inquiring minds want to know.

OT: Paul: I go to pick up Paul’s ashes this morning. I hope, when I see the urn, that I can hold myself together long enough to get him home. We plan on burying him and celebrate his life at the cabin on Thanksgiving.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Due to the recent outbreak of tea spills, there is a shortage of tea leaves. Therefore we are going to implement conservation strategies.

Lupinium: I really didn’t mean to spill Puckmosis’ tea when I was working on my new routine.

The Queen: I understand, Royal Jester, but we must all be careful. These are strange times.

Elvis-Anum: Not to mention the parsley, sage, and rosemary are unusual, too.

The Queen: Nonetheless, Trevor-Hotep is here to introduce a new drink made from the cacao bean.

Trevor-Hotep: I brought some here to try. You may like to have it with marshmallows or whipped cream.

Beatrixia: Ooh, I have a cacao mustache!

The Queen: I also have another surprise. Maat-Tilda has designed for everyone a set of loose-fitting, comfortable clothing for wearing in the evening.

Scene: The cats all sitting in their jammies drinking hot cacao. Fade to black.

    Green fields and rolling hills

Freedom to do what we will

Sweet dreams of yestertime are running though my mind

    And what we’ve left behind,

Been so long, I can’t remember when

I miss our old ways and I want them back again

Been so long, I’m living till then

‘Cause we’ve lost some good times but we can’t lose hope

    That they’ll come back again.

We can never know about the days to come

But we think about them many ways

And I wonder if this is really real right now

While just chasin’ after some finer days

    Sequester-ation, sequester-ation

    Is makin’ us fret

    Is keepin’ us wai-ai-ai-ai-ai-tin’

And tomorrow may not be any better

    I’m no prophet and I don’t know nature’s ways

So I’ll try to see all that’s fine right now

And stay right here ’cause these are the good old days

    Today is International Day of Friendship, and Share a Hug Day. I’d say we have that situation well in hand. 8^) Group Tele-hug! }{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{BCN Orb}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{

I am sad to report that here in the People’s Democratic Socialist Republic of Madiganistan (the state formerly known as Illinois), National Whistleblower Appreciation Day is banned.

You may think that World Snorkeling Day really sucks, but I don’t.

On a happier note, Today is National Chili Dog Day and National Cheesecake Day. No, not that kind of cheesecake! This is a child-friendly area. I’ve never quite understood the reason for chili dogs. I mean, why would anyone want to put a chihuahua in a bun? It would mightily upset the dog (assuming that really is a dog, and not just a rat on steroids), and would waste a perfectly good bun … Oh, that kind of “dog.” Ahem. Well. I still don’t see the point. The dog adds nothing to the chili (unless it’s really lousy chili) and the chili does nothing for the hotdog (same caveat)—other than make it tremendously messy to eat. Yes, I’m something of a purist when it comes to chili and hot dogs—except that I unashamedly put catsup on my dogs (but never on a chihuahua). And I like my cheesecake plain, completely … naked. A thing of true beauty needs no embellishment.

Now, spaghetti sandwiches, those I understand. Has to be on commercial, mindless white bread, though.

Speaking of staying up late, I couldn’t sleep till 5:30 in the morning the other day. I was very hungry and had to take many midnight snacks to finally sleep. Strange are the ways of the great tummy god who demands absolute devotion to his cause. Why, even right now I’m offering some midnight offerings to this divine deity who demands ginormous donations of food.

I work for a law firm in California (not a lawyer, just staff) and a lot of the courts are doing hearings via video. Some of them have actually had to make rules that the attorneys cannot wear pajamas or casual wear during the hearings! Presumably that is for the judges also.

My tabby woke me up twice this week with the “I’ve got you a present” meow. Dead rats. They really are my favorite kind (hey, MUCH better than live ones), so I got up and told her how wonderful she was. Then, I pick them up with a grabber and throw them into the back yard.

I vaguely think we might have been aware that the Woman wears glasses, but the Man wearing them is a surprise.

Update on the Woman: an ultrasound was done on her ankle this morning to rule out DVT as a cause of her pain, and it was ruled out. If the pain is not a little more controlled over the next day or two, it’s off to the foot and ankle guy next week.

As well, she is being permitted to return to the office on the down-low for two weeks. She’s been working from home as her presence in the office is not essential to day-to-day operations. However, her boss is an RN and a former CNA who occasionally helps us out. (She took care of the Woman’s ADLs for a few days back in December following my tryout to be a crash test dummy.) She wants the Woman to come to the office so she can monitor the ankle and provide some wound care for the next several days.
