There is a store that sales cheese by me that has a sign outside right now that says, “You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy cheese and that is pretty close!”
I have occasionally written things I call poems, but I always opt for a free form option that doesn’t take quite as much work. I will never get famous for writing poems.
I just remembered there was at least one other time when mail was delivered, during Buzzy Mouse’s kidnapping. It was probably one of the robber mice that delivered that mail.
Pretty in Pink was just came up on Jeopardy yesterday, sort of. It was a clue about Jon Cryer but his more resent roll on 2 1/2 Men, but it did one of those Jeopardy things where it threw Duckie in the clue as an extra clue. No one got the answer including me because I could come up with his name fast enough. Ken made a comment about him playing Duckie. I was imaging the contestants wondering who the heck Duckie was. At least two of them looked like they were not born yet in the 80s.
Grilled cheese is my normal Friday lunch. Since the rush on bread back in January when there was a blizzard predicted and all I could get was cinnamon bread I have been using that which I find quite delicious.
The song “The Captain of Her Heart” by Double just came up on my playlist. It seems like it might be a good one for Sophie. It is maybe a bit obscure song from the 80’s. It was popular, at least on stations around here, in the summer or 86 when I had a job patrolling county beaches. It was a rough job but someone had to do it. I did it with another girl. We were supposed to look for people doing things they weren’t supposed to like drinking alcohol or with dogs on the beach. I can’t remember exactly what we were supposed to do, I think maybe ask people to leave if they were doing something wrong and if they didn’t I think we maybe needed to contact someone. We weren’t supposed to force people off the beach or anything. Mostly we walked up and down the beach and drove between the 3 county beaches (2 by the end of the summer because it was a high water year and the one beach pretty much flooded out). We listened to the radio when we drove and this song was on a lot.
Dearest is good, that definitely sounds like Sophie. I did think about going with that but ended up just going with dear.
