Indeed a hardy salute and keep up the good work. From one police first responder to the healthcare first responders.

Your wife and the other medical personnel fight the virus, the rest of us fight the stupidity.

The war doesn’t make them heroes but how they respond does.

(Not that it’s actually a war. War, famine, pestilence, and plague were concepts and terms common throughout history, not normally treated as the same thing even though they often rode together. This is not intended to belittle the good deeds and heroism involved in standing up to any of them. Someone recently called it a war with an “invisible enemy” because he didn’t understand the terms and thought “war” sounded more dramatic. An enemy wishes you harm. Plague simply sickens, marks, and possibly kills you but without any understanding. Don’t humanize your killer when it isn’t human. There will be no mercy, no armistice, no treaty.)

And a big Huzzah and stay safe to all the folks that work to keep the hospitals clean and as safe as can be.

Tell her to stay 6 ft away from those doctors. One of my favorite 80s bands; a song dedicated to Sheila. https://youtu.be/4k89_UrZXNw

Very nice sentiment…although, every time we refer to this as a “war”, T Rump seems a little less Commander-in-Chiefy…

I know nurses who won’t wear masks “because God will protect me.” I tend to keep a state or two between us. I also know charge nurses who could make a Sargent Major and a Marine Gunny weep in a corner while sucking their thumb (and that’s when they’re in a good mood with a fresh coffee pot). Them I trust a bit more. Sadly they frown on it if I punch freedumb Flu Klux Klanners in the throat more than once. Yep, I see this as a war. Best wishes to your wife. I hope she doesn’t take any… crap… from anybody. Those are the keepers (however you want that word to mean).
