This is pretty close to reality for me. Everyone in my house gets up at 9 or 10, so I’ve started getting up at 6 or 7 to have some alone time before everyone comes down

He’s got a point, Dad. What’s the use of having a day off if all you’re going to do is work the whole time?

Oh lor’, this was my mother. As an insomniac she was usually up by 4 or 5 AM. At 8’30 she’d be screaming, “C’mon, up and at em, the day’s half over!”

Definitely a morning person here. I’m no more fond of work than anyone else, but I function best early. I’d rather have a busy morning and a lazy afternoon than a lazy morning and a busy afternoon. (And if I am lazy in the morning, I’m likely to be lazy all day.)

Dad, do like I used to when a certain member of my family would finally drag himself out of bed: “He breaches!” Or “It’s alive! It’s alive!” ☺

I agree with Calvin, when you become an adult you don’t have weekends you just change jobs. On Saturday I do everything I couldn’t get done during the week. When I was a kid I had chores but most of the day I could do what I wanted.

I, too, suffered from a dad who was a morning person. Getting up early is one thing. Being so smug and cheerful about it to those of us who are night owls is just so danged annoying.

I’m definitely a late to bed, late to rise person by nature. But when I worked in an office trying to be productively creative, I found it very good indeed to get to work before the distractors… I mean my co-workers :) got there. I could get as much done in the hour before they arrived as I could do in the whole rest of the day.
