I was thinking this was one of the last strips, but this is dated 4/19/1990 and the strip ended in December 1995. So we have five more years before it ends.
I know Dad wanted to get to bed as soon as he could but it was low key sweet of him to tell Calvin and Hobbes they will have plenty of adventures together.
One wonders if this opus would be — or would have been — a good choice for Calvin & Hobbes’ final cartoon when Watterson drew the curtains on the strip.
