As transformational as FDR’s New Deal programs were during the Great Depression, the Green New Deal is now needed to transition from a dwindling finite carbon energy source to long-term environmentally friendly renewable green energy while providing new-age jobs. It is a concept whose time has come and the Republicans should get on board to make it a national objective.

This is not the green new deal bandwagon this is the Trump new health care bandwagon.

Can we please move onto other important current issues Lisa, such as what is really in the over 300 pages of the Mueller’s report?! Oh sorry, it’s not about the rightists, my bad! ¯\(ツ)

Climate change is the most important issue of our time—we already see the predicted results of larger storms exaggerated amounts of heat and cold. It will get much, much worse if we don’t do something and soon. All the GOP does is laugh about it. They refuse to acknowledge the truth.

Better than the GOP coal wagon with mining waste dumped into rivers and mercury emitted into the air.

Lisa’s caricature of the GND is accurate for the Senate. So the GND may be like a poorly organized circus wagon with a unicorn to pull it, but you’ve gotta start somewhere. This at least makes the statement that the Dems care about the environment and are willing to work to protect it. If Repubs wish to get on board, too, that would be a win for the environment. This is not a party thing; this is for all of us.

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa, please stop beating the dead unicorn. I was kind of hoping your strip today would be extolling the brilliant ’Con health care proposal lowering costs and providing coverage to all U.S. citizens. Or on the new OBJ – not Odell Beckham the football player but the impending investigations into obstruction of justice by Prez. Thugga-slug-huckster.

Aren’t conservatives big on family? Having children? Grandchildren? Given that trait, their selfish lack of concern about future generations is appalling. Everything is about short term economic gain, having lots of stuff, and filling their bellies….now! Now! NOW!

Sure Lisa. Your cartoon is a fair representation of the "Green New Deal " idea, the GOP is the “Party of Health Care”, and the Barr letter is a true and sufficient summary of the Muller Report. Carry on.

History lesson time boy’s and girls. The “old” “New Deal” was just a revamp of the Hoover’s actions just bigger and wasting more money(to be fair we did get some spiffy government building and dam’s out of it (they built them prettier back then)). The economy never fully recovered until the advent of WWII. When we sent millions of workers to work overseas, and for the first time had a significant number of women in all industrial labor.

When did the Republican party become the NO party?

When did they become the party that ignored problems, instead of working to solve them?

When did they become the party that simply wanted to win, at all costs?

I grew up admiring the Party of Lincoln. I want them to do well, to lead us, to solve problems.

I want them to do more than blame Democrats for all our problems.

Come on, Lisa, you can do better than this.

Mauser7, FDR’s New Deal programs were far from a waste of money; they were, in fact, just what was needed for the time. Through programs such as the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Works Progress Administration, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and others, millions of men and women were put back to work and billions of dollars injected into the economy. The legacy is a multitude of public works for dams (eg. Hoover Dam), parks, roads, government buildings, etc., etc. Millions of men and women were given jobs and billions of dollars were injected into the economy. But it took Pearl Harbor and WW2 to fully mobilize America’s manpower and resources. Then when the victorious allied troops returned home with a fresh sense of optimism and with a surplus of resources, ample labor, and the availability of capital, the economy boomed. Capitalism flourished and public works continued such as the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System. The GND could very well be a continuation of that partnership of public and private entrepreneurship which powered the boom.

Can’t think of anything cogent, so draw a cartoon of a silly wagon drawn by a unicorn and label it with something you’ve been told to hate. Good one Lisa!

PS: How about a cartoon of Agent Orange actually reversing DeVos’s mean and stupid cut of Special Olympics funding in order to pay for more tax cuts for the ultra rich, and more funding for our already over-funded armed services?

For years the right screamed climate change was a hoax (some still do) despite all the evidence and scientists warnings … now they are saying its too expensive to do anything about… imagine that… Its too expensive to try and save the planet. Thats the kind of logic we are dealing with.

The most missed part of any “repeal and replace” is the "replace"part. DJT doesn’t see it nor does AOC and her NGD. Yes, yes, yes we need to depart from fossil fuels but what is there ready to take it’s place? Had not Standard Oil negotiated the internal combustion engine with the populace we would be 100 years ahead in battery tech instead of hoping one guy with a goofy name gets it right.

I know I’m off topic {but, this cartoon is so dumb} I was just wondering why trump was worried about Mr. Mueller? An innocent man has little to fear. Where no crime was committed, there can be no guilt. Why was trump so cranky and scared? It doesn’t add up. I’ll have to think about this.
