Of course, the physics are bad here. If Stupendous Man (or Superman for that matter) tried to move the earth by pushing it, all he’d succeed in doing is punching a hole in it.
Of course, we all know that it’s impossible for ANYONE to travel faster than light. So Calvin’s solution is the only one that will work. Of course, with the earth spinning at about a thousand miles per hour at the equator, turning it backwards would cause major catastrophes. But as I’ve said, Calvin is brilliant, even knowing what he does know. Stuff like “momentum” and “acute angle” for example.
When I was a kid, I liked to be outside in even “reasonable” weather. I still prefer to be outside. Back then, I would go full speed until dark. Now I spend hours finding things to do outdoors. Back then, I would outlast the day. Now the day outlasts me and I regret that some of it goes on without me.
Okay, so I am thinking that is not entirely out of the question. I mean the turning of the earth is questionable, however, if we judge the time and date by the rising and falling of the sun, perhaps we can all agree that the time, or day of the week, is incorrect and we can all simply set our watches and calendars back a day or so. I don’t know. Maybe something like crossing the international date line and running into daylight savings time.
If someone managed to stop the world from rotating all of a sudden I’d be flung into the nearest wall at 500 mph, of course he “slowly” stopped it from rotating so maybe everyone on earth would just trip or something.
Stupendous Man doesn’t realize that his arch-nemesis, the evil Mom-Lady, has the power to undo his time reversal trick and put him right back into Sunday.
People like Calvin completely miss the first part of the 4th commandment: “six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work”. So much of working on the Sabbath is catch up for shirking during the week.

Stealing from “Superman”? The part where he does the same thing to save Lois?

That’s the spirit, Calvin/Stupendous Man. Leave it till the last minute.

Sadly, I’ve worked with a few people who tried to find ways to put off doing their work. Sometimes, I was able to cover for them, sometimes not.

It’ll be a miracle if Calvin finishes his homework at all.

I’m confused. Did Calvin turn the Earth backwards for a whole day to get to Saturday, and then start it turning forward again?
The astronomers will be furious.

Sounds like a great plan. No work on Mond… I mean Sunday. Thanks Calvin! I mean Stupendous Man!

At Calvin’s age, play is all the homework he needs. No wonder the boy suffers from attention issues. He is in constant burnout!
