I sure hope so. If only the Dems had the Republicans’ total disregard for any issue except when it pertains to winning elections. But then there wouldn’t be any reason left to support the Dems. But since the Democrats care about issues, that takes away focus from winning elections. Such a quandary…
It will be the same as 2016. Everyone says that Democrats will win, Democrats won’t vote and Republicans keep on destroying the country. It takes an awful lot to get a Democrat to get off their rumps and vote!
Of course, there are areas in the States who vote rethuglican no matter what! Scottsdale comes to mind. Miami too. Even our small community holds more Blue haters than Blue lovers
Democrats need to have progressive candidates that actually follow through on pushing progressive law. HRC latched onto Bernie Sanders’ ideas, but most people saw that as posturing and she’d go back to her corporate ways if she’d been elected.
The race in West Virginia is crazy; the incumbent Manchin is a DINO that votes with the Republicans and one of the Republicans trying to beat him is Blankenship who should still be in prison for the deaths of miners.
Well, every few years the power struggle swings back and forth. The Dems screwed it a few years ago and lost a huge power in both houses when they ticked off the electorate. And not it is the Republican’s turn. In a few years it will swing back.
And the good of the nation and the citizenry will be screwed over regardless of which party is in “power.”
A Republican got elected somewhere, so they think this is fake news. They are as worried about the blue wave as they are about global warming. But then, they never did believe facts.
Seeing as how it was Democrats who’ve often provided enough votes to confirm Trump’s nominations and pass various pro-corporate legislation, I have very little faith in this “Blue Wave.” Just because the corporate Democrats are less detrimental than Republicans doesn’t mean they’re not detrimental. Just because that poison you’re drinking is diluted doesn’t mean it’s not still poison. Besides, if the Democrats just keep doing their “more of the same” schtick, whatever legislative gains they make in the up coming election cycle will just get reversed in 2020.
There are age limits to join the military, vote, run for office. There should be an age limit when they have to retire. The president can only serve 8 years, how does congress and senate stay there for life?

Perhaps instead of “draining the swamp” we need a good ol’ fashioned flood to flush out the swamp!!

The only real way to fix Washington is to get money out of politics. [I will now pause for the hysterical laughter to die down.]

Many of the electorate have been manipulated to the point they do not know what is best for them.

Why do democrats (or simply liberals) keep losing at all levels (local, state, federal)?

I’m closing my eyes, contemplating the possibility that a whole reef full of fire coral is beneath its churning, stubby legs. It’s a beautiful thing.

Long past time for this to happen. They shouldn’t have survived the Great Depression and Richard Nixon, either.
