Ah, the Trustbusters!

Maybe congress can apply their thoughts and prayers to the problem…

I am SO GLAD I never had a farcebook account…

After watching a bit of the hearing, you can see how badly out of touch our representatives are, how constrained they are by biases, almost blinded by tribal belief systems, and you get the strong impression that Facebook is a global enterprise that is much more coherent and better managed than the US congress.

I know people in their eighties and nineties that are more current than some members of congress … but what do expect when the only requirements are age and citizenship?

So true. Mr Carroll must have a window that allows for such timeliness. That is better than some strips which always seem 6 weeks behind. But it could be stressful having to come up with something about yesterday as well. I guess that’s all part of being on the editorial/political pages. Keep up the great work, Mr Carroll.

They are all jealous of all that power to spy on people. And they can’t even get their own computers to work. The FMSCA website has been down since December. It is curious how Congress’ extreme grandstanding is working overtime in the case of Facebook.

How many congressional hearings have been held for the data breaches by Equifax? Yahoo? Verifone? Dun & Bradstreet? LinkedIn? Target?

Of course, Zuckerberg is well known to NOT be a Trump Disciple, so of course Republicans will attack anyone like that.

Also, Zuck has invited Congress to regulate his industry.

But then, regulation is something Republicans don’t know how to do, so we have another reason for them to attack Zuckerberg.

Was that the legal department of “this social media company” or of “the American people”?

Only the government should have that level of abuse of power. The government doesn’t tolerate competition against its monopoly.
