Natural selection in action. The bear is only taking salmon that aren’t smart enough to use the Up escalator.

I’ve never heard of escalators. We had salmon ladders. Lot more effort, but the fish were in much better shape.

If they used the up escalator, they’d be going upstairs to yawn.

Why are the salmon going UP the DOWN escalator?

There’s a big fire-breathing salmon coming called “Salmonilla”.

Since they appear to be at a shopping mall, could Robert Hazard’s “Escalator of Life” be playing in the background? The Muzak version, of course.

Good for us bears.

Bear feels a little gillty.

I was able to visit the Feather River Hatchery in Oroville, Ca. years ago while the salmon were running – fascinating (although probably not for the salmon – their sex lives were suddenly cut very short).
