She got a huge crush on him, and was pretty devastated when she found out that he was gay….
but they remained friends.

And now I’m reminded of a scene from WKRP in Cincinnati, where Jennifer was dating a much older man who died while they were on a date. The man had created a video will and mocked all his relatives.
