Potato salad isn’t strictly an interstellar thing, unless it’s due to the fact that Texas has played such a role in Terran space exploration. I won’t say it’s commonly Texan, but some of my friends here will put potato salad in at any opportunity. (Then again, one at least originates from Alabama.)
