Before we had a standing army the 2nd amendment made sense. When the government was new and there was uncertainty, it might have had some bearing, but times have changed. The government has weapons that a rifle cannot stop. Other than being able to kill people at will, there really doesn’t seem to be a need for individuals to need a gun, certainly not to protect our country … our army can do that much more effectively.
I noticed that tree is in a gun-free zone. Never trust anyone who wants something for you that they themselves will not accept. When the NRA meetings, CPAC, RNC, congressional buildings and the White House allow conceal and carry and members to carry their own guns to protect each other, then we can talk about allowing all those guns in schools. What is good for the school children, is good for the Senate.
Funny how the same party that blames metal illness for mass shootings also refuses to make it harder for people with mental illness to buy the types of guns used in mass shootings.
I’m sorry to say my two nuts did. Ones’s a Repub. and the other’s a (gag) Libertarian. I love them, but their politics came from who knows where. On humanitarian issues they’re liberal at least.
And once this proposal gets rejected (hopefully) , the next one would be " arm the children" .After all, everyone should be capable of saving themselves …

Don’t forget that GOD says it’s fine for EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN to be more heavily armed then the 82nd. Airborne Division…

Nuclear bombs don’t kill people, people with nuclear bombs kill people.
If a kid on the playground hits someone with a stick, you take the stick away from him, you don’t arm every kid with a stick.
Boycott the NRA, ban the AR-15, stop voting for gun extremists.

An oak tree? I think of the NRA as a big steaming pile of horse exhaust.

Everyone who attends a Trump rally should be issued an automatic weapon to stop someone from shooting Trump.

Almost ever one who buys a gun, does so with the intent of “self defense.” 2% of actual shootings are actually in self-defense.
