While “swamp” is the commonly accepted term (probably because the District of Columbia was built on a swamp), I think a better description of the Trump presidency would be red tide.

He has used Russian aid to get into office, and spent the last year and a half lying, obfuscating and cheating. When Trump says believe me, you know he is lying. He didn’t drain the swamp, he filled it with sewage.
Donnie’s “Swamp” actually is a ‘Cesspool’! The people draining the Trumpian Septic Tank consists of Mueller and his hardy band of “pumpers”. Their job is to ‘expose’ all the muck and slime and offal of the Trump Administration to fresh air and light of day and deposit somewhere away from the rest of humanity where the damage they cause can be ameliorated and corrected. after they’re finished we will return to “normalcy”, though the stench will linger for decades, I’m afraid.
