That group called “dreamers” just expanded their ranks big time. Until you come to your senses about what the (original) concept of the 2nd amendment meant.. dreaming is all you are going to get.
A simple (partial) solution would be to require a permit.. issued by the FBI.. renewed every 3 years.. to own or possess ANY firearm that RESEMBLES a military weapon. This would not infringe on the perverted interpretation of the 2nd amendment but allow some degree of control by the authorities.. and over time.. reduce these wanton shootings
I think we can get around the 2nd amendment by not regulating guns, just their ammo. Let the gun fancier have all the guns he/she wants, just limit the ammo he/she can acquire.
It’s time to “bite the bullet” and class weapons as those for hunting, those for protection and those for manslaughter. Those for the latter should have strong regulation and licensing.
Flushing the vermin that is the conservatives in congress that have consistently valued the right to kill over the physical and mental safety and welfare of our children will be the primary goal of every sane person in November. The fear is how many more children will die before we make that a reality.
I hope every young adult in school stands up and is counted. I hope they make their voices very very loud, so loud that they are heard in Washington, so loud that their combined voice will be heard in every state Senate, so loud that every parent hears it and responds by voting against Congressional representatives and Senators that do not vote for strict gun control and strict enforcement of existing (what few there are) gun control regulations.
@momsaid, I don’t think that the NRA has actively encouraged mass murder, but they don’t do anything to discourage it. They certainly don’t want anything to restrict the ability of ANYONE to acquire weapons, ammunition, very large capacity magazines or any modifications which allow the weapon to be concealed or to fire at a high cyclic rate.
BTW, here is an article, post the Las Vegas massacre, listing those in Congress who received money from the NRA. In order of amount. House and Senate. Notice that John McCain is at the top of the money heap. The very top. Cut and paste it in the toolbar to get to the article. It’s very interesting. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/10/04/opinion/thoughts-prayers-nra-funding-senators.html

The government has no obligation to protect anyone from crime. cf.: DeShaney v. Winnebago Cnty., 489 US 189 (1989).

This is a very true and touching tribute. I am so tired of all the innocent deaths. Action must be taken…. Thank you for creating this!

If it were up to these patriotic children – there would never be another school shooting.

On several news web sites, it’s already getting difficult to find articles about this latest shooting without using a search engine.
Keep up the pressure, Steve and “children”!
And let “them” know that these aren’t 6-year-old “children”. What they really are is young adults.

At the very least, the NRA’s High Command actively encourages mass lemmings.

Using only crosses is somewhat offensive Steve, as either 3 or 4 of the students were Jewish, as were one or two of the teachers killed.

BTW, for those who have not heard, the school building where the massacre occurred…it’s being torn down. They won’t have to go in there again.
