It may have been the biggest tire at that time but I’ve seen one bigger. It is located in Allen Park Michigan near Detroit. It was originally built for the New York Worlds Fair 1964/65 as a ferris wheel.

That thing needs a starter motor, and the driver needs a lube job.

Soon to be seen with the world’s biggest ball of yarn.

The passing point actually occurred when the guy built the first one, then put two together on a frame. Just wasn’t recognized as such.
