“We shall overcome”, “Battle Hymm of the Republic”, “Star Spangled Banner”, “Happy Days are Here Again”, “Onward Christian Soldiers”, nah, music has never been about politics.

If you were to choose only music that is free of any politics what would you have left? “How much is that doggy in the window?”

Poor Lisa. It can’t be helped if she’s tone deaf.

You can’t separate politics from real life. But you want to separate music from real life?

Perhaps Ms. Benson would rather expound on the size of #45’s popular vote margin? His HUGE Inaugural crowd? His “hidden” tax returns?

Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Fortunate Son immediately comes to mind when Trump rears its empty head! Happily the music industry recognizes threats to democracy at the highest levels. Musicians were right about many things political despite most conservative’s bile filled rhetoric directed at the industry. A corrupt administration hates the light shone on its ugliness!!!

And that is ONE of the reasons the viewing of the Grammys was down by 25%. After last years choice for best picture, I don’t think I’ll watch the Oscars this year. If the entertainment industry thinks they have all the answers and need to educate the unwashed masses, keep putting out music and movies that preach your views. The masses will let you know with their dollars. To see that all you have to do is look at sales of downloads and Movie ticket receipts. There are several movies nominated that I have watched or will watch, but as per the last few years I seriously doubt any of those will win the Oscar.

@NOAH BODDIE: I find it interesting how you Repugs keep trying to brand the Dems as “elitist” when the truth is your party is run by and for the racist rich white 1% while the Dems are inclusive of everyone and for everyone without regard for race, religion or sexual orientation. You may want to Google the word “elitist” before you use it again.
