Today, Dad will become a big game hunter.

Calvin the Elephant meets Dad the natural disaster.

At least he’s not going to squirt them with water.

If only Calvin woke up like this on school days.

Calvin, I will whole-heartedly agree with any punishment your mom and dad may dole out for this bit of over-the-top obnoxiousness.

Hey, they’re just getting payback for letting him learn to play that thing after Uncle Max gave it to him. Payback for Uncle Max will come much later, but rest assured that it will be more than appropriate.

Calvin is right, in one way. He has a trumpet, and elephants do trumpet.

Like my dad always said…..if a boy lives to be 10, he’s probably gonna make it. Calvin is pushing the odds.

Knowing how Calvin usually sleeps in a bit of role reversal tomorrow Mmorning would be just the thing….

I love these wonderfully serene moments….just before the chaos erupts!

I’ve got an eerie feeling that it’s not just the early morning tranquility that will be shattered in a moment Calvin.

For me, this is one of the funniest strips. It demonstrates the vividness of a child’s imagination and the stark difference between that imaginative state and reality. That being said, I’d LOVE to see the fifth frame. Bill is such an excellent artist for such memorable moments.

Shoulda been a tuba
